Purse to Go – Purse Insert Reviews

In our next review on purse insert, we turn out our attention to another popular brand, Purse to Go. Purse to Go signature purse insert is shaped like a bucket with pockets all around it. All Purse to Go purse inserts are made from the same material which is Polysilk and they are available in multiple sizes, colour and prints. Other than the signature bucket design (Red), the other design is known as boxy (Biege). Each of these design comes in various sizes.

Material
All Purse to Go purse inserts are made of polysilk which gives it a soft cotton feel to it.

Structure
Purse to go has two different design for their purse inserts. One is the bucket design which is available in Small, Large (purple), Jumbo (red) and Extra-Jumbo Sizes (black, left). Some sizes come with top zipper.

The other design is the “Boxy” design. “Boxy” design adopt a more boxy shape with four walls around it. It is available in two sizes – small (beige) and large (black, right).

First we examined the bucket design (red). From its top view, you will notice the purse insert is long, flat and oval. The “Boxy” design (beige) is more rectangular.

Both the bucket and boxy design does not a solid base. The base is basically a thin polysilk fabric unlike the side walls that are thick and firm.

The side walls of the bucket design (red arrow below) have the tendency to close by itself because of its weak base. That may be a problem for user that are looking for purse insert that is more structured to add shape to their unstructured bag.

The “Boxy” design is much better, as it is more boxy in shape it does not close easily.

I will give Purse to Go a 5 out of 10 when it comes to overall structure compared to other brands such as CloverSac and Chameleon Insert.

Weight

The weight published on its official website for each of the model differ from the actual weight. It may seem that Purse to Go is lighter in weight compared to Cloversac and Chameleon Insert. The reason for that is because it lack the PE cards that CloverSac and Chameleon Insert include in their design to add structure to its overall design. Without the PE cards inserted, the weight for all three brands are relatively the same.

Pockets and Compartments
Purse to Go pockets have flat pockets that are sewed around it. Some models have pockets both inside and outside, some only has it outside. Only flat pockets are incorporated in the the bucket design. Flat pockets are good if most of your items are “flat” however if you items are bulk like water bottle, it will be a problem. Another problem is some of these pockets are too tall and flat, making it hard to reach for items place inside it. For example the pocket is over 5 inch deep and flat making it hard to reach for smaller items.

The Boxy design which are available in two sizes have a center zipped pocket which act as a partition for two bigger compartment each side.

• Large Size: 12″L x 6″H x 3.5″W – 7 Pockets
• Jumbo Size: 15″L x 7.5″H x 4″W – 8 Pockets
• Extra Jumbo Size: 18″L x 9″H x 6″W – 7 Pockets
• Boxy-Small: 12″L x 8″H x 5″W – zipper pocket + 10 pockets
• Boxy-Large: 15″L x 10″H x 7″W – zipper pocket + 9 pockets

There are 6 sizes. The dimensions of the sizes are reflected above. Following explain how Purse to Go takes it dimensions for its Jumbo Size: 15″L x 7.5″H x 4″W

Colour
Purse to Go comes in various color and print. For example black, brown, tan, red, purple, pink, turquoise, lavender, green, silver, hot pink, done, ivory and several other prints

Prices
Purse to Go is sold online and they also have a distributor in Singapore. Do take note that the naming of Purse to Go when it comes to sizes is different for both sellers. For example Purse to Go called it Jumbo Size (7.5 x 4 x 15) which but the Singapore distributor called it Large (7.5 x 5 x 13). Ordering can be rather confusing as both call the same item differently. Both prices are relatively close after currency conversion.
