Which is the Best Purse Organizer Insert … Lightweight or Structured?

When you search online for purse organizer insert for your handbag, a few popular names keep popping up like CloverSac, Chameleon Inserts, Purse Perfector, Pouchee, Purse to Go, Samorga and many other custom bag organizers sold at Etsy like Samorga or Divide and Conquer. Before plunging to buy the cheapest purse organizer from Groupon or Amazon, which can cost you as little as only USD$3.00, takes some time to read my selection criteria for purse organizer insert below. Remember … Cheap does not necessary mean good.

• Weight – It has to be as light as possible, why do you really want to carry that extra weight
• Structured – It should have a good structure so that it help to maintain the shape of the handbag
• Variety & Design – Variety of color helps to match the interior of the handbag
• Pockets and Compartments – Should have enough pockets and compartments to store your belongings
• Pricing – Should not be too expensive, a comfortable range should be something between USD$20 to USD$30. If you handbag is not a common model, you may consider buying a custom one from Esty which will easily cost you between USD$60 to USD$100.

Structure or Lightweight Purse Organizer?

In my opinion, two of the most important criteria when deciding which purse organizer insert to buy are; structured and weight.

Remember structured and weight does not really go hand in hand, you cannot expect a structured purse organizer insert to be lightweight or a lightweight purse organizer insert to be structured.

Question is should you be buying a structured or lightweight purse organizer? It depends largely on the handbag that you are using the purse organizer insert for. For example, if your handbag is already structured and it able to stand on its own, you may want to consider something light-weight. CloverSac
Cloversac purse organizer is one of the latest brand for purse organizer. Other than purse organizer, it does many other bag accessories like base shaper, purse pillow stuffer, dust bag, handbag rain coat and many others.

• Weight (Score : 8/10) –  It is pretty light in weight, weighing around 150 gram without those structured cards but with the structured cards inserted, it weigh around 250 gram. What are these structure plastic cards that we are talking about? See pictures you shall understand, it is basically cards that can be added or removed at the two sides and the base to add structure to the purse organizer insert.
• Structured (Score: 10/10) – It has good structured as it has plastic cards that you can insert at the side and bottom. See above.
• Design & Variety (Score: 7/10) – CloverSac did not score well when it comes in variety of design and sizes as it only has two sizes, one which is 22 cm long and the other which is 28 cm long. The smaller version only comes in grey while the other version comes in red and beige.
• Pockets and Compartments (Score: 9/10) – They have many pockets inside and outside, it even has a middle compartment that can be removed.

Chameleon Inserts
Chameleon Inserts has been around for awhile. They only specialise in doing purse organizer insert and nothing else.

• Weight (Score : 8/10) – It is pretty light in weight as well with added weight when structure cards are added.
• Structured (Score: 9/10) – Yes it has structured cards like CloverSac as well but it is not as structured compare to CloverSac as the front and back has foam batting while Cloversac has PE card.
• Design & Variety (Score: 9/10) – Yes it has wide range of color. 9 colors to be exact and 5 different sizes.
• Pockets and Compartment (Score : 8/10) – It has many pockets but does not have centre compartment like CloverSac

Purse to Go

Purse to Go design is completely different compared to CloverSac and Chameleon Inserts. It is lightweight but does not have any much structured.

• Weight (Score : 9/10) – It is light because it does not have any option of structure cards.
• Structured (Score: 6/10) – Purse organizer is flat and it tend to close. It does not have structured cards like CloverSac or Chameleon Inserts.
• Design & Variety (Score: 10/10) – Yes it has wide range of color, some with pattern design as well. 
• Pockets and Compartment (Score : 8/10) – It has many pockets but does not have centre compartment like CloverSac. Pocket are also flat against the purse insert
