Where is the cheapest place to buy Longchamp in Paris

Nope it is not inside Printemps or the nearby Galeries Lafayette, even though these are two of the most popular shopping places for tourist in Paris. If you are planning to go down Paris, following are two suggested places where you can find the best bargains for Longchamp.

One of the only place in Paris where you need not pay any VAT upfront is Charles de Gaulle (CDG) Airport. It is one of the places in Paris where you can enjoy upfront tax-free prices without the need to experience the long queue in doing the EU duty-free paperwork. With this upfront-tax free opportunity, you basically pay 5 to 10% less than what you paid from a shop in Central Paris. For example, for the same small bag with long handle, it was 63 Euro at CDG compared to 75 Euro at Central Paris before VAT refund. The only problem with buying at CDG Airport Paris is the selection may be limited at times. The means the stores may not have what you plan to buy. Following is the detail of the shop at CDG. It is good to call to find out their opening hours before heading down.

The other place in Paris where you can find great bargains for Longchamp is none other than La Vallee Village. If you being to the Premium outlets in the US, La Valle Village is something similar . This shopping area is not in central Paris but is easily accessible via RER. The direction to La Vallee Village is as follows:

  • Take the RER Line A from Auber Station (central Paris) towards MARNE LA VALLEE CHESSY to Val D’Europe Station.
  • At Val d’Europe station, exit on the right and walk towards the huge shopping mall facing the station (called Promod Centre Commercial Val D’Europe).
  • Walk through this shopping mall and La Vallee Village is justs behind the mall.

The entire is about 40 minutes and the rail fare for each adult is Euros 14.60. Other than Longchamp you will find many off season apparels from other designer brands going at great discount. For a better understanding how far it is from central Paris, see below

Even though you should be paying lesser in the above stores mentioned, you may not find what you are looking for as this is subjected to the store availability. So if you are serious about getting that particular color and model, I will highly recommend to buy downtown and do the VAT refund.
