Base Shaper for Longchamp Le Pliage

Everyone I know seem to own a Longchamp Le Pliage. What is there not to like about Longchamp Le Pliage, it is light, it is affordable and it comes in various sizes to cater to your different needs. It is one of the most common bags carried by women on the street these days. Everything seems to be perfect about Longchamp Le Pliage except one thing (or least it is a problem for for me). It does not have a solid base. How is not having a solid base a problem? The problem when a bag does not have a solid base is it will tend to sag at the bottom, see picture below and you know what I am trying say. Other handbags that faced this problem as well are Louis Vuitton Speedy and Neverfull.   The answer to this sagging problem is a base shaper. Base shaper is basically a solid plane that people insert at the bottom of their handbag to create a harder bottom so their handbag will not sag when stuff are placed on top of it. Base Shaper can be made of PVC, nylon, polyester, cardboard or even acrylic. Be careful when choosing one for your handbag as choosing the wrong base shaper may damage your handbag over time. Following are three important selection criteria when it comes to choosing the perfect base shaper.

• Hardness of the Base Shaper – You do not want to choose a base shaper that is overly stiff as it may damage your bag. I will not recommend using base shaper that is made of Acrylic as it stiff and its sharp edges may scratch the interior of the handbag.
• Weight of the Base Shaper – You do not want to choose a base shaper that is heavy as well. Choose one that is extremely light so that you do not carry that extra weight.
